TFCosplay - the Wiki [05 Oct 2006|07:31pm]

the_s_guy
For all of those who browsed the now largely-defunct TFCosplay website, here's some news after nearly two years of hiatus.

It's moving to a Wiki format.

This means that anyone can contribute content - links, images, articles, comments, projects, you name it.

3 Robots in Disguise| Transform!

Hello! [11 Nov 2005|10:59pm]

poptartodoom
Wow, I didn't realize that this community existed. Anyway, I'm Evil Killer Poptarts, and last summer, I built costumes of Ramjet, Dirge, and Thrust for OTFCC 2004.

I had to recruit help to wear them all, but all three coneheads were there.

I am working on a Powerglide costume to date, and my best friend (dressed as Ramjet above) will be cosplaying as Estoria for me. I've even built a chest piece with blinking lights that form a heart. Hehe. ^_^ As much as I can't stand the little braggart, he's fun to impersonate.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello. ^_^

Emperor Starscream costume [11 Aug 2005|04:48am]

Me in Yasumicon as Emperor Starscream

Not that great as some other Starscream costumes out there but its my first try at doing a costume by scratch. Many thanks to OA for posting this in their site in the photo area. I only wish to give you a full body pic. The boots came out excellent especially with my skills with card board boxes.
The flaws of this costume is that it started to break apart on me. Particularly the boots (they werent glue right) and the side flaps that close the costume in broke as well,  but no worries I have fixed the problems already.

I only wish I brought my camera with me to take few pics. It was so funny to see me walk down the stairs. I fell on my royal hinnie accouple of times. My bf was asking why I just don't fly my way down afterall I am a Decepticon and 'cons suppose to fly. (smart *beep*) I was basically drunk with pocky by the time we left the con and was feeling tired.

My next projects are G1 Cyclonus (starting to look better than my Emperor Starscream costume and a whole lot lighter too...could move alot easier)  and Estoria (from episode "The girl who loved Powerglide"). See ya at Kunicon 2005.

Carly, take two [01 Jun 2005|05:03pm]

The costume is done ... sorta. I did it at the last minute, so I could wear it at BayCon (as a hall costume), so it's a bit ghetto-ish. I'll probably do a better version to wear when I go to see the Transformers movie when it comes out next year ^.~ (maybe I'll make a little Bumblebee plushie to go with it).

There's something about Carly ... [19 Feb 2005|04:52pm]

Whenever someone mentions cosplaying as a character from Transformers, it's always one of the robots ... which makes sense. But I don't think I've ever seen anyone cosplay as any of the human characters, just for the hell of it.

So--since I've already found most of what I need on ebay--I've decided to cosplay as Carly ^.^

Some picciesCollapse )

Just thought I'd share ^.^ This place needs a little action, anyway.

Still plan on making my Nightbird costume, but it's a ways off.

Hello, my fellow TF fans. Found this place and decided to mill about here for a bit, given that a good friend of mine and I are taking on the daunting task of making not one but TWO Transformers costumes for SugoiCon 2005. We'll be doing the Lamborghinis, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe.

Pictures as the progress moves along.

Transformers Cross Generations [14 Oct 2004|08:15pm]

shellcase
I am a big Transformers fan. I own the movie and own about 30 or more classic new TF. My first was a die-cast metal Hound and my most recent is Landmine. But the great thing is now I collect them with my son and youngest daughter. He likes to construction and racing related TF, and she likes the Minicons.

I read a new TF movie is in the works. I'll be sure to take them to see it along with going to see Harry Potter 4 and Star Wars 3. I try to catch the new TF cartoons on Cartoon Network when I can.

It is great to meet other who like TF as much as I do.

Introductory post, for the sake of formality =P [01 May 2004|02:08pm]

... even tho it's my second post here >.>

Well, I live in California, I'm in my late 20's and have been costuming for about 5 years or so.

Right now, I'm working on a Mystique costume (from the comics, with creative license used) and soon Catwoman (cross between the Batman Returns costume, and an early one from the comics, with some of my own touches added). I plan to make a Nightbird costume for myself (she was in one episode of Transformers, Generation 1) and an Optimus Prime costume for my b/f (I'm thinking of basing it off the 20th anniversary action figure). I don't know when, but I will be tackling them at some point.

Here's My Website

I'm gonna try to keep an eye out for web sites devoted to TF costumes, and I'll post these links when I find them. If others could do the same, I'd appreciate it ^.^

Welcome to TF Cosplay.

I mostly made this community because I eventually plan on making some TF costumes of my own, and ... well, while I've seen the occasional website of a person who has made one, I've never actually talked to anyone who has. In fact, I looked for a community dedicated to TF cosplay, or mecha cosplay in general, and apparently there aren't any ... so I made my own ^.^

I also know people who plan on making TF costumes, and people who know people who have already, so I wanted a place where we could all gather to talk about it.

So have fun. And while it's not required, I'd like it if new people would introduce themselves ^.^ (guess that means I should do that too >.> *procrastinates*)
